Day 41 - Back to Singapore!

Today is the day we go back to SINGAPORE!!
YAY!
My day started out at 8.30am.
I had breakfast first.
And I headed back to my room and finished up the packing of mostly my toiletries and daily necessities.

After all the packing.
All the MDE students weighed their luggage using the weighing machine at the hostel.
After that we had to move all our luggage up the bus.
Then off we were to the airport...

All finished with the weighing...

All set to go...

At the airport…
We said goodbye to the China local students.
We really thank them for being with us for the past 6 weeks.
They brought us really good memories.

My group leader...

With the local students before we flew off....

Finally we board the plane to Guangzhou first.
Then we had to do a transit so we could go back to Singapore.
Our plane to Guangzhou was delayed a little.
And I was so worried I wouldn’t be able to reach back to Singapore in time!!

On the plane to Guangzhou.

When we reached Guangzhou, we had to rush for our plane to Singapore.
It was a mad rush.
We were walking so fast that I even sweated!
We only had about 10 minutes to get from one point of the airport to the other end of the airport.
It was a very long way to me!
But we managed to make it!
Everybody was so excited to get back to Singapore!

Reaching Singapore soon in a few hours!

Finally at 11pm.
Our aeroplane landed on Singapore grounds.
We unboarded the plane.
And I hurried off to buy perfume for my mum and alcohol for my dad.
After that I hurriedly went to collect my luggage.
And off I go to meet up with my friends who were already waiting to fetch me home.

FINALLY HOME!!

My group and I in Singapore!

Through this OIP, I learnt so much and enjoyed myself a lot.
I have to thank the teachers who were so patient with us especially Mr. Wong.
I want to thank my roommates who were very understanding and for the wonderful times we shared together while living in the same room.
And my friends who came to China too for making this OIP trip so enjoyable.
I enjoyed myself a lot through this trip and gained so much experience too!
This OIP will always remain in my memory!

The ever patience Mr. Wong.

Day 40 - Packing Up

Today was the last day for any shopping we need to do!
My day was spent with Seok Hui and Xiang Yu.
We all wore quite formal which we thought would be a fun idea.
We had lunch first at the back streets.
Then we proceeded to take the bus to the Wal-mart area.
We first went to walk around the shopping mall.
Then we headed to play some arcade.

After that we headed to Starbucks.
We just spent our whole day there.
Sitting there, eating, drinking coffee and laughing away at each other.

At Starbucks.

With Xiang Yu and Seok Hui.

We also had coffee tasting session with one of the staff there, Ellen.
It was a really cool session.
After that me and Seok Hui bought the Starbucks mugs to bring back to Singapore for souvenirs.
And we took a taxi back to the hostel because we were carrying too much stuff.
And we headed off to Ni Nan Restaurant for our last dinner in Wuhan.

After dinner we headed to the nearby shopping centre to get more stuff.
And then to the back alley at the hostel to get more stuff again!
Finally we got some supper and headed back to our hostel.

One of the stall vendors whose stall I often frequent.

At the hostel, the atmosphere was really good.
Everyone was so excited.
Everybody was also packing up their luggage.
I managed to pack mine quickly as I have very little stuff.
My night ended around 4am and I headed off to dreamland.
I can’t wait to get back to Singapore!

Day 39 - Celebration!

This morning I had breakfast with Seok Hui.
We went to McDonald’s.
It was my 1st time having McDonald’s breakfast at a foreign country.
After consuming the food, I felt that I still prefer the ones that Singapore makes.
There’s a difference in the McDonald’s here and back in Singapore.

Breakfast.

You can top up RMB2 to have your harsh brown changed to Egg and Ham Puff.
And the breakfast hours at China is up to 10am.
But in Singapore, it is up till 11am.
So I had to wake up slightly early to reach the McDonald’s here.

After breakfast we went back to the hostel and took a rest.
In the afternoon...
We headed off to KTV first alongside with Winson, Mengzhen, Cimin, Huimiang.
Around 3.30pm, Seok Hui, Xxiang Yu and I left first.
We went to shop around the shopping centre.

At the KTV.

Later on in the evening...
There was a farewell party.
At the same time we celebrated Rocco's birthday.
He is really lucky to have so many of us celebrating his birthday.
And this marks the end of day 39...

The celebration.

Day 38 - End of presentation

Today we had our presentation for assignment 3.
My group was the 4th to present.
I think that compared to the presentation for assignment 2…
We did a much better job.
Our late nights were all worth it!

After the presentation…
We went for lunch at the back streets.
And proceeded to ‘han zhen jie’ for more shopping!
This time round I bought a bit of stuff for myself.
At night I also went to make my spectacles.
Since it is rather cheap to make it here rather than in back in Singapore.

Inside one of the shopping mall...

Our shadows.

Look at those shoes!!!

Reaching the end of the night...

Also.
Alongside with the LSCT students, we started making preparations for the farewell party with the local students that will be held tomorrow.
We ordered cakes and finger food.
After that it was back to the hostel.
And all of us called it a night.

Day 37 - Interaction Activity

Today my groupmates woke up at 10am.
I proceeded on to the classroom block to seek Mr. Wong’s help.
After watching Stephanie’s and Xiang Yu’s group present, Fran and I went to ask questions regarding our Flexism model.
When we came back.
All of us started working on our report and continued to improve our Flexism model.

Stephanie's group.

With Seok Hui in her formal wear.

Winson in his formal wear.

At 6pm, I went to dinner with Fran, Mengzhen, Seok Hui and Xiang Yu.
After dinner, we proceeded to the classroom block for interaction activities with the local students.
Before the interaction begin, we watched hip hop performances, singing session and a gongfu performance.
After that, we started the interaction session where we talked to the local students in English.

The amount of people who turned up.

Before the performace started.

Dancing away.

Great move!

Playing the guitar.

Gongfu!

I felt that the interaction was very good.
We get to ask questions that we were curious about and vice versa.
We were also able to make new friends.
I felt that the interaction activity was successful as the activity went longer than expected.
It only ended at 9pm.

After the interaction, I proceeded back to the hostel to finish up the presentation.
And I can declare that after a few nights of staying up quite late and not blogging diligently….
It is finally completed.
Great work to Room 117!

Day 36 - Adventure Day

Today we had to gather at 7am.
It was considered very early for me and roommates.
Considering that we slept at 3am last night as we were trying to do up our assignment 3.

We headed to some adventure event.
Where we did teambuilding and obstacles as well.
Surprisingly my team, Teamers came in first for the first event we had.
GREAT JOB!!

Teamers - Before start of competition.

Victory photo!

After that we headed off to lunch.
And it was at a restaurant nearby.
Where we had fishball soup.
YUMMY!
Haven’t had fishball soup for quite some time already ever since I was in China.

Fishballs!!!!

After lunch it was back to doing obstacles.
After all the obstacles had ended which included rock climbing…
We headed back to the hostel.
After dinner, me and roommates were back at work on our assignment.
