Day 35 - Back from Luling Resort

Breakfast was at 7.30.
After that we were off to climb some kind of a mountain.
It was quite a walk.
There were so many steps.
We were going up then down then up and down again.
It was non-stop.

Leaving our rooms in the morning.

Our breakfast

Standing on chess pieces

After that…
We had our lunch at the same place once again.
After that.
We were to view a cave.
I felt that the cave was probably the event that I liked the most?!
Because I have never been into a cave before…
It was definitely an interesting tour.

After the cave visit…
We were headed back to our hostel.
And we had our dinner.
And it back to work at assignment 3.
And that marks the end of the last overnight trip of the OIP.

Day 34 - LuLing Resort trip

Gathering time was at 8am.
And we were headed for Luling Resort.
Upon arriving.
We had our lunch first.
After lunch.
We checked in to our hotel.
The interior looked quite nice as compared to the hotel we stayed when travelling to Wudang Mountain.
But there were so many bugs over there.
And even spiders too!

I was initially in a room with Cimin.
But later on in the night.
I switched places with Hui Miang.
As I was too afraid to sleep in the room with such a big spider hanging on the wall!
Thanks Hui Miang!
You saved me again!

After that we went out to do some sightseeing.
And we took many pictures as well.
After that we headed back to have dinner at the same place.
After dinner we had a campfire.
At the campfire, we singed, danced and had lots of fun.

Group photo!

MDE group shot!

Sunset!

After that we then retreated back to our rooms to prepare for the next day…

Day 33 - Start of assignment 3

Today is a free and easy day for us.
So Cimin, Hui Miang, Winson and I decided to head on to ‘Han Zhen Jie’ for some shopping.
And it was still raining when we were shopping.
I guess the difference between here and Singapore is the rain.
In Singapore… it probably only rains for an hour or 2.
But in China.
It can literally rain from morning till afternoon non-stop.
It made me weather more freezing than it can be.

After that we headed back to the hostel around 5pm.
And we went to have dinner at the back street.
After that we went straight to the hostel.
Me and my roommates took a rest and started our assignment 3.
And we stayed up till pretty late to finish some parts of it.
I guess the rest shall be continued when we come back from the resort trip.

My bed! (random shot!)

The umbrella we use for rainy days...

Cimin's shopping gains.

I apologise for the short post.
This is due to the rush of the assignment 3.

Day 32 - Cookout Session

Today was a day to Wal-mart!
We met up at 11.30am and headed off to Wal-mart.
We had our lunch first.
At McDonald’s…
I swear no more McDonald’s for me for the coming weeks.

Headed off to walk around the shopping mall nearby.
And we also went to play at the arcade.
After some time we went to Wal-mart to get all the ingredients.
Mushrooms, vegetables, drinks and so many more…

In th arcade playing games.

At Wal-mart.

Look at the mango!!! So tiny!!!

Me and Fran decided to linger around the place a little while longer.
While Stephanie, Seok Hui and Xiang Yu headed to Mr. Loh’s apartment first.
I reached Mr. Loh’s apartment at 5pm.
And I helped them in whatever way I can.
Washing the dishes, the mushrooms and other stuff…

We started eating around 6pm.
As the others haven’t arrived yet.
We were kind of like the first batch to start eating.
And the food was good as usual!
I loved the curry the most.
Especially when you spread it on top of the white rice!
FABULOUS!

Dinner!

After everyone arrived and had their meal.
We also started watching a movie, Red Cliff 2.
After the movie we also played some karaoke songs to hear and sing along to.
I headed back to the hostel at 10pm alongside with Stephanie, Seok Hui, Winson and Xiang Yu.
And that was how the day ended.
It was a pretty long day.
Not to mention that it rained later in the evening.
Until tomorrow then!
BYE!

PS: Thank you Mr. Loh, Mr. Wong for organizing this successful event. Especially to Xiang Yu for all your hard work.
(:

Chillinng out after dinner.

Day 31 - Assignment 2 Presentation

There is no lessons today...
But we had our presentation for assignment 2 at 3pm.
So todays's post will be slightly short.

Masita presenting...

I love the picture on the screen! great creativity!

Their Ishikawa diagram. Very innovative!

One of my OIS video groupmate, Clive!

And the leader, Hashanah!

Hashanah presenting.

Today's presentation ended at 6pm.
Went to have dinner with some of my friends.
Fran, Seok Hui, Xiang Yu and I went to have the claypot beef noodles again.
It is really yummy.
After dinner we went to buy our supper.
And then it was back to the hostel.
It was quite a short and quick day.

Stalls at the back streets....

That is the streets that I often frequent for supper and at times dinner too...
The food is cheap.
It taste good.
At the same time it is oily too!
And perhaps fattening!

I wish there would be such a street at the back of my block at Singapore.
It would really be very convenient then!
I can always just pop by there for supper.
I guess that will be all for today...
Bye.

Day 30 - New campus tour & Test 2

Time flies...
It is Day 30 already!
Today we had to gather early in the morning at 8am.
We were due to visit the new campus of WUST.
The place was about 1 hour journey.

Upon reaching there..
I felt that the place was rather big and empty in a way.
And it seemed like the school was built in a rather quiet area.
This is because towards the end of the bus journey.
I saw that the surroundings weren't like the current WUST I am residing at.
There is no back street where we can buy a lot of food.
It seems more like a industrial area to me.
With only very few nearby shops which sells snacks and drinks.

Their library...

Unlike the library in Ngee Ann Polytechnic...
We can just enter the place freely as we want.
We do not need to tap our student card at all.
We just walk in when as we want to.
It also applies when we exit.

However in the new campus of WUST.
They have to tap their student card when they enter the library.
I felt that this was rather interesting.
As I have never seen anyone entering a library in this manner.

The machine where they have to tap/swipe their card.

Upon reaching inside.
We were led to a exhibition hall.
And in the exhibition hall.
We were given a tour on how on the history of WUST.

The entrance to the exhibition hall.

The school's philosophy.

One of the exhibits - a report card which reflects their results.

Their awards..

The current campus of WUST I am staying at...

The current hostel I live in currently - look at the arrow...!

The new campus of WUST.

Leaving the library for more tour...

After the tour at the library..
We were led to a teaching block.
I believe it is the Nursing block.

The building we were brought to after the library...

At the front of the exhibition hall.

When we were inside the Nursing building...
We were brought to see some exhibitions...
The following pictures may not be suitable for young minors.
Plese exit this blog immediately if you can't afford to look at the raw pictures.

Introduction
Human body is the outcome of years of evolution.
More than 800 specimens were being exhibited that I saw today which was employed using multi-media techniques.
They are witnesses of life in its beauty and struggles against adversities.

The human skull.

The bones of the hand.

The joints of a foot.

The temporalis.

Some information on temporalis.
The temporalis is a muscle extending from the temporal fossa to the coronoid process of the mandible
It acts to raise the mandible and close the jaws.

Endocrine organ

The skull of a newborn human.

Basal surface of the brain.

After that we were brought to another plae.
Where we could see some wards which serve as a learning environment for the local students.
The machines used are actually real.
They are not fake and made of plastic.
They are real and students use it for their learning.

Fake patients lying on the beds.

A close up of the 'patient'

ICU laboratary.

Machines!

After that.
We were brought to another room.
In the room we were due to give our presentation to the local students over there.
As usual...
The presentation was also about the life of a student, our culture beliefs, the food in Singapore, our transport system and the law system.

Local students giving a welcome to us...

Beginning of our presentation.

Presentation going on...

Me with a local student.

After all the presentation.
We played an interactive game with them.
After that we had lunch in their school canteen.
Their canteen was big and had a wider variety as compared to the WUST I am currently residing at.

After lunch we proceeded back to the hostel.
And we took a 1 hour rest.
And then we had our test 2 at 4pm.
The test was really lengthy as usual.
We had to write a lot of words.
And as usual I hope Mr. Wong will be able to understand my very messy handwriting.

After the test we had dinner at McDonald's.
And then some of us went to the optical shop at the back alley to look at spectacles.
After some considerations.... I'm still thinking if I should make my spectacles over here instead of Singapore.
We headed back to the hostel after that and I continued with my assignment 2.
Supper was at 10pm with the usual supper lovers!
HAHA!
And now it's back here at the hostel...
And continuing with assignment 2.
Have an early rest everyone!

Her 18th birthday...

Well.
At 11.30 last night.
Some of us were gathered in room 117 - my room!
And we were awaiting for midnight to arrive.
And when it did...
I managed to get Huimiang over to my room by telling her to catch a spider for me in my room.

After all the celebration.
We settled down and Mr. Wong returned our test paper to us.
And in an instant everybody's face turned serious...

Mr. Wong going through the answer...

After the lesson.
I didn't have lunch due to the cake portion I was given...!
I headed back to the hostel.
And my group started on assignment 2 immediately.
And we made some progress finally!

Snacking on the go!

Halfway through all the work...
I heard a buzzing sound outside.
I took a peep!
And I saw a man cutting the grass!
It's almost like back in Singapore!

Cutting the grass!

After all the work I did...
My friend decided to webcam with me!
And I talked to eeyore as well!
Just look at my friend's eeyore!
It's seems big to me!

Shy eeyore!

EEYORE!

After that.
I took a rest.
And applied some eye mo.
This was because my eyes were feeling very tired.
And I needed to refresh my eyes!

Eye mo!

Tomorrow will be a rather long day.
We will have a campus tour.
And we need to complete our assignment 2.
And there's a test as well!
Till then...
Bye...

Ohhh!
I hope Hui Miang enjoyed her BIG day we planned!
It is really cool to be celebrating her birthday here in China.
Although she may not be in Singapore to celebrate it with her close family and friends..
I hope she is happy that we had celebrated it for her.
Best wishes to you Hui Miang!
