Her 18th birthday...

Well.
At 11.30 last night.
Some of us were gathered in room 117 - my room!
And we were awaiting for midnight to arrive.
And when it did...
I managed to get Huimiang over to my room by telling her to catch a spider for me in my room.

The celebration ended slightly before 1am.
And during the morning...
We had another surprise for her in the morning.'
This time round we were going to celebrate it as a class.
But the surprise was spoilt due to human errors.

Mr. Wong bouncing to the music!

After all the celebration.
We settled down and Mr. Wong returned our test paper to us.
And in an instant everybody's face turned serious...

Mr. Wong going through the answer...

After the lesson.
I didn't have lunch due to the cake portion I was given...!
I headed back to the hostel.
And my group started on assignment 2 immediately.
And we made some progress finally!

Snacking on the go!

Halfway through all the work...
I heard a buzzing sound outside.
I took a peep!
And I saw a man cutting the grass!
It's almost like back in Singapore!

Cutting the grass!

After all the work I did...
My friend decided to webcam with me!
And I talked to eeyore as well!
Just look at my friend's eeyore!
It's seems big to me!

Shy eeyore!

EEYORE!

After that.
I took a rest.
And applied some eye mo.
This was because my eyes were feeling very tired.
And I needed to refresh my eyes!

Eye mo!

Tomorrow will be a rather long day.
We will have a campus tour.
And we need to complete our assignment 2.
And there's a test as well!
Till then...
Bye...

Ohhh!
I hope Hui Miang enjoyed her BIG day we planned!
It is really cool to be celebrating her birthday here in China.
Although she may not be in Singapore to celebrate it with her close family and friends..
I hope she is happy that we had celebrated it for her.
Best wishes to you Hui Miang!

Day 28 - Beginning of Week 5

Today's post won't be very long I think.
As nothing much hasn't been happening.
So I guess today's post shall short and sweet.

In the morning.
Class started at 11am.
And Mr. Wong went through with us what will be going on for the next few days.
After that he went through with us the assignment 2.
And soon after lesson ended.
And we went to have lunch at the school's canteen.

Assignment 2 - something that we have to produce...

Lunch.

After lunch..
Some of us went to walk around the back street.
And when we came back...
The initial plan was to start working on assignment 2.
But all of us took a nap and well.
Let's just say...
We never touched on our assignment 2 at all.

Dinner.

Dinner happened at 6.30pm
And a few of us went to eat at the back street.
And then it was back to the hostel.
I guess my group shall work on the assignment soon later on in the night.
And that'll be all.
Bye.

Day 27 - Free and Easy Day.

Today is free and easy.
In the afternoon a couple of us went to 'Han Zhen Jie'
And we walked around.
But we had to settle our lunch first.
We had our lunch at the 'fake kfc'.

A form of transport for the locals.

Lunch.

Lunch - interesting way in how they eat their chicken.
They covered their hands with a plastic wrapper.
It is a creative idea of not making your hands dirty.
I think Singapore can adopt this idea too!

After walking around 'Han Zhen Jie'
We decided to move on to 'computer city' also known as 'dian nao cheng'
Along the way.
We came across some people selling puppies.
When I saw that sight...
My heart literally ached for the puppies.
They were shivering in the cold.
But I couldn't do anything at all.
I'm glad I do not see such things in Singapore.
Other than the occasional sight of stray cats and dogs.

The poor puppies.

At the same time we also popped by Starbucks.
And Seok Hui went to grab some hot chocolate.
We also went to the toilet inside Starbucks.
And I really loved the toilet there as compared to the one in the hostel.
It is really spacious and clean!!

Starbucks.

Their toilet!

Random people playing basketball outside a shopping mall.

We headed for dinner at a restaurant near our hostel.
And reached the hostel around 9pm.
And I called my mum too!
She says I have a surprise back home!

And there's lesson at 10am tomorrow.
Till tomorrow.
BYE!

Day 26 - City Tour

City Tour!
The gathering time was 8.45am.
And we hopped onto the bus and the destination was 'Bu Xing Jie'
Our tour guide, 'Xiao Liu" talked to us about the people in Wuhan on the journey there.
And well.
Apparantly the people in Wuhan also have some kind of slang too like Singapore.
In Singapore our slang is commonly known as 'Singlish'.
And I felt that both the slangs in Singapore and in Wuhan is quite similar.

Our tour guide, Xiao Liu

Upon arriving...
We had to walk on foot for quite some distance.
The bad thing was that it was raining.
It was a slight drizzle.
A very bad day to go shopping.

Due to the wet weather.
We decided to go shopping first and the visit to the park at a later time before we headed back to WUST.
The tour guide dropped us off at a shopping centre and it was free and wasy till 2pm.
So most of us all went shopping.

Look at Winson's newly bought bear!

Outside the fitting room..

At 1pm.
We headed for lunch at fast food restaurant, Dico's
I have to say I loved my lunch a lot.
It was a set meal ordered alongside with Fran.
I had the curry chicken rice while she had the chilli chicken rice.
The curry wasn't spicy.
But it had a sweet taste to it.
I miss the curry back home in Singapore!
I loved the rice so much at the fast food restaurant I wanted to pack back 10 packets of it.
So I could have it for the next few days for breakfast/lunch/dinner!!
HAHA!

Dico's fast food restaurant!

Fran's and my set lunch!

A lunch affair.

We went to gather at 2pm.
So we could visit the park.
And finally at 3pm.
We boarded the bus and headed back to WUST.

Before the bus took off.
One of the tour guide spoke to us...
Basically it was to say farewell to us.
As for the previous trips to Wudang Mountain and so on etc...
He was the one that has been accompanying us all along.
And we believe that today's trip would be the last time that we're seeing him.
But to them...
They believe in fate.
And one day we'll meet each other soon!

The tour guide.

Upon reaching the hostel.
I headed for a rest as I was having a headache.
But now I feel much better.
As for tommorrow..
It is free and easy.
And the plans for tomorrow aren't confirmed yet.
Until then.
BYE.

Day 25 - Yangtze Optical Fibre industrial trip

Today we went to another industrial visit.
This time round we went to Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Company.
The journey was rather long.
We also happened to pass by Wuhan University.
It is where you can see the sakura flowers.

Our speakers.

The company...

YOFC - Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable.

A brief introduction on the shareholders.

Core Manufacturing Technology.

Milestones - they were established even before I was born.

Sales Achievements - they have sold their products to more than 50 countries and regions.

The 3 different rods - Single-mode Fibre Rod, Quartz Substrate Tube after PCVD and Quartz Substrate Tube.

Perform Production Process

Close up of Optical Cable.

The colourful end products.

Group shot!

After the industrial trip.
Seok Hui, Stephanie, Vivian, Xiang Yu and I went to Wal-Mart.
But before that...
We went to have our lunch at Pizza Hut.
The difference in the Pizza Hut here and the Pizza Hut back home is probably the service.
They will open the doors for you.
And I think that maybe the Pizza Hut here is treated more of a high-end restaurant.
There wasn't much people in the Pizza Hut.
And the toilet is very clean as well.

Pizza Hut.

Table settings - note the difference? They have a mug! And they do not put any soup spoon.

Lunch!

Pizza!

My half-eaten pizza!

After lunch we went to walk around the shopping mall nearby.
After that we popped into Starbucks as well.
And Seok Hui and Stephanie bought some stuff back.
The staff there gave us each a small little cup of free drinks!
They were really very friendly towards us.
And they left me with a very deep and good impression.

The free drink!

Enjoying the drink!

An overview of Starbucks...

After that we headed over to Wal-Mart.
And there was a really big variety of stuff to buy.
There were many fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, dairy products.
It looks like a typical supermarket in Singapore.
Except the size is much more bigger!
After the trip to the Wal-Mart.
We headed back to the hostel and placed our stuff down.
We then left for Mr. Loh's apartment for a trial session of the cooking...

Doing some preparation.

Xiang Yu starting to cook!

My turn to cook!

Cooking in process!

Final products!

Mr. Wong digging in!

Mr. Wong digging in too!

Washing up time!

Let's all dig in.

I felt that the food was really nice!
And great job to those who contributed!
It made me feel much more closer to home.
And the food tasted very good.
As it was not oily or salty!

[[ NE message: No one owes Singapore a living.
We find our own way to survive and prosper, turning challenge into opportunity.

What the message says is very true.
We must all find our own way to survive.
In order to do that.
We must study hard so we can get a good job ion the future.
And any challenges we face in the future or now.
We must use our own thinking and turn it into a opportunity for ourselves so that we'll be able to benefit from it.

I believe that this also applies to the local students here.
That they do not own their own country a living.
They like Singaporean must also work very hard for their future as well as for their survival. ]]
